Free Author School Visit

SCHOOL VISITS ARE FREE 

• I don't charge for school presentations. If I have to travel further than 1 hour from my hometown of Saratoga Springs, UT, I may have to charge a fee to cover transportation/travel costs. See the bottom of page regarding scheduling school visits outside of Utah.

"YOU ARE THE HERO OF YOUR STORY" INTERACTIVE ASSEMBLY (50 min)

• • We talk about being the hero of your own story and tie it into writing, the importance of reading, dealing with failure and not giving up.
  • We use lots of volunteers to create interactive stories, perform magic tricks, showcase artwork, music, and how being a hero ties into learning new things.

LITERACY NIGHTS & BOOK FAIRS

• Is your school hosting a literacy night or a book fair night? I'd love to come! I can provide an assembly at the school a few days before the literacy night or do a fun presentation for families at the event. I'll sell/sign books at the event and give away free signed posters to every student who comes.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL VISITS

• For middle and high school I often visit Creative Writing and English classes. We do a few interactive activities and then I share my top writing tips. We wrap up with a lengthy Q&A session about writing and being an author.

FREE ARTWORK FOR ALL STUDENTS

• All students receive 1 free piece of artwork from the I Am Sleepless scifi series (ages 9+).

SCHOOL VISITS OUTSIDE MY HOME STATE OF UTAH

• I can still offer free school assemblies outside of my home state via the following ways.
  • We line up 6+ school assemblies in a geographic area and a place for me to have a book signing in that area (i.e. at a local book store, at one of the schools, school carnival, school literacy night, etc...). Visiting multiple schools and having a location for a book signing where students and parents can come will typically cover my travel costs. 
  • I often travel to teach at writing conferences and other events around the United States. Contact me to see if I'll be in your area and I'd be happy to visit surrounding schools while in town. Or if you have connections with a writing conference or book festival in your area, let me know and I'd love to join you if my schedule permits.
